Spirited Bird Series
This theme poses an endless number of opportunities.
For starters simply an elegant bird sculpture. By introducing my copper branch and bamboo forms, the theme can be expanded to larger free standing or wall mounted sculpture, or even enhance a gate // fence // birdbath // trellis or add multiple birds. Not to mention the various postures, flight // swooping // perched, combined with the anthropomorphic characteristics, such as peering // curiosity// loving, boundless.....
Spirited Bird On Stone 20'' Tall
Note: the sculptures are not exact replicas; they are handmade, forged- formed, welded and assembled one piece at a time. When forging - forming the individual copper wool for instance pieces are irregular, a little longer, wider, curvier etc. When assembling I take the liberty of artistic license to creatively approximate the essence of the sculpture.
